Prāgas sanitāri epidemioloģiskā dienesta ārsti iesnieguši kriminālprasību pret 30 vīriešiem, kuri tiek turēti aizdomās par apzinātu HIV infekcijas izplatīšanu. Šo informāciju publicējis laikraksts MF DNES. Vīriešiem, kuri zinot, ka ir inficējušies, stājās intīmos dzimumkontaktos ar partneriem, neizmantojot izsargāšanās līdzekļus, draud brīvības atņemšana uz 10 gadiem. Kā paziņoja Klīniskās slimnīcas AIDS centra vadītājs Ladislavs Mahals, runa ir par homoseksuāliem vīriešiem no Prāgas, no kuriem daudziem ir prestižas profesijas. Policija pret viņiem uzsākusi pārbaudi. Pēc dažiem datiem, šie vīrieši lietojuši antiretrovīrusu terapiju un tāpēc partneriem nebija apdraudējuma, ka viņi tiks inficēti ar HIV. Eiropas AIDS ārstēšanas grupas aktīvisti sākuši parakstu vākšanu zem petīcijas, kas ir pret kriminālvajāšanas uzsākšanu pret šiem cilvēkiem.

The authorities in the Czech Republic have started investigations and possible prosecution against people living with HIV for alleged violation of the Czech Criminal Code. These PLHIV were treated for other STIs, but the Czech authorities see this as an evidence that they had unsafe sex and thus endangered their partners with transmitting HIV.
This is utter nonsense, harmful, counter-productive, intimidating, and possibly against a number of laws on data protection. It is also a clear violation of the human rights of these individuals.
No person with HIV in treatment and with undetectable viral load transmits the virus.
