Within two months there is political infighting in Ukraine escalating into armed conflict for last few days. Few protesters are killed, hundreds people are wounded in action.
We commiserate with every family of killed Ukrainian citizens on their loss. The Network condemns any bilateral violence for settlement of political differences. Unfortunately we shall state that there are evidences on violation of human right on health in the capital of Ukraine due to the armed conflict. The patients seeking medical care at the hospitals have been holding detention by police even without registration. Thus people choose rather bleed to death then to seek for treatment.
The Network is convinced that the right to medical care is guaranteed by National constitution and international law and is out of any political movement. The Network has always kept watch over the constitutional rights of Ukrainian citizens and supported the provision of medical assistance to the victims making every possible effort for the peaceful settlement of conflicts in the country.
As an Organization created for provision of care to the patients and protection of their rights the Network opens out the site of emergency medical care. We welcome medical professionals for emergency care provision at the site which is located at our premises. We strongly believe that feasibility of creation alternative medical site is lifesaving activity for Ukrainian citizens at the moment.
We urge international organizations experienced in provision of medical care in armed conflicts to follow our initiative and open field hospital in Kyiv.
We call UN General Secretary, World Health Organization, UNICEF, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Red Cross to stake out a stand regarding human right violation in Ukraine and ensure provision of medical care to Ukrainian citizens.
We appeal to law enforcement officials to stop pursuing of injured people at the medical settings.
We urge Government and opposition to prompt conflict resolution in a peaceful manner. Immediate negotiation and transparent dialog are likely to stay bloodshed.
We believe that every human has the basic right to medical care and his (her) political commitments shall not affect the enforcement of the right.
